The story goes that the bucks had been seen fighting for over 30 minutes and going at it hard, near small drainage ditch near the Runge Nature Center along Highway 179, on the Jefferson City State Headquarters to the Missouri Department of Conservation.
The first photo was taken about 5 minutes after they had went into the creek area. Not sure if the buck broke the others neck but, Jim did say that the one buck held the others head below the water line. The third photo is when Jim grunted, the buck looked up.
Dead deer's rack has been taken to Roger
Vogel Taxidermy and was estimated at 138".
What a chance of a lifetime. Well for at least two out of the three on the
scene.
