Just in case you are looking for a great place to fish, that is on your way to or from Deer Ridge, LaBelle City Lake, Henry Sever, or Ewing City Lake give Lewistown City Lake a chance.
The lake is located just off of Highway 6 north on Highway Y, just outside of Lewistown.

The lake is approximately 60 acres, it has a steep gravel boat ramp, a rip-rap dam, and a good ammount of aquatic vegetation.
No gas motors or swimming allowed.
The area is very scenic.  The fishing is great too.  All species are abundant.  There are many points and a levy filled with chunk rock and concrete slabs.
There are stumps located sporadically with a few lay downs.
City maintained lake for water supply purposes, with water maintained in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Conservation. The land around the lake is city owned.
The lake is a wonderful place to spend the day with the family.  Bank fishing is also good and the shoreline is well maintained.

The lake is loaded with small bass.  Crankbait fishing will put some
quality
fish in the boat.  Locals say big bass do exist.  A lot of crappie
fishermen
frequent the area.

Topwater fishing can provide some great action.

Species:
Largemouth Bass, White Crappie, Channel Catfish, Bluegill, Carp
Tricks of The Trade:
If you've ever fished topwater and fell in love with the dynamite explosions produced from hungry bass, then this is the way to go. Especially late in the year when bass are gorging themselves on baitfish.
During the springtime, throw a red 7" worm, rigged texas style off the banks, be ready to set the hook!
