| Show-Me Lake is located just south of the Iowa &
Missouri line west of Memphis Missouri on highway 136.
This lake has timbered coves, lots of vegetation, rip-rap, points a sunken island and other good cover for fish. The walleye fishing has been the hot draw on this lake for the last few years. Waterfowl hunting is allowed, camping facilities, shooting ranges and field hunting around the lake are also available. This is a great place for an all around outdoor weekend. Lake Showme (Northeast Region) prospect report 2006Information: (660) 785-2420 This 225 acre lake in Scotland County should provide excellent fishing for multiple species. Largemouth bass numbers were excellent during spring sampling in 2004. Almost 25% of the bass sampled were at least 15 inches long. Panfish angling should continue to be excellent in 2006. Anglers should expect to catch a high percentage of bluegill seven inches and longer. Although not as numerous as bluegill, good numbers of redear eight inches or longer should also be encountered while targeting panfish. Crappie anglers frequently harvest large numbers of nine to 11 inch long fish from the fishing dock. Walleye, which are stocked by the City of Memphis, continue to provide a quality angling experience in this north Missouri lake. The spring 2005 electrofishing survey for walleye showed that 96% of those captured were at least 15 inches long, and nearly one-fourth of the walleye captured were at least 20 inches long. There is an 18 inch minimum length for walleye and only four walleye may be kept per day. The campgrounds here are very nice. They have picnic tables, barbecue grills, a pavilion for group dining and meetings, privies, a shooting range close to campgrounds and water. The costs is $10 per night. |
The campgrounds are maintained by the city of Memphis so be ready for the Memphis Police Dept. to come by and collect your camping fees. |

Very nice shooting bench. Range open during daylight hours. Show-Me Lake also has a trap and skeet range open for use intermittently. |
